I watched the first half of the series (because everyone was raving about it—I didn't actually know about the alma mater connection, because I live under a rock, apparently). I was so uncomfortable by how trope-y it was, to say the least.<br /><br />It's beyond frustrating that when someone says, "Hey, this is racist," the general response is something along the lines of "well, they didn't mean it that way."
